Book Study (Monsters, Monster Kingdom, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Dans)

I honestly did not expect anyone to take the time to study the passage and send in their thoughts.

BUT, one very faithful reader of mine worked really really hard, studied the passage in my book, Defeating Monsters Through the Power of J.R.R. Tolkien, sent me the longest email, shared some really good points, and shared their question. And I am so grateful! Shout out to this amazing person! (You know who you are.) If I were to start a cult, which I’m not planning to do this July 21st, 2018, coming soon to a forest near you, then this person would be my very first member.

In this post, I will share my thoughts on the passage and I’ll answer the one question I received. 😛

First, buy my book on Amazon. No, seriously.

My Super-Ultra Basic Outline:

I see this passage in four distinct parts:

  1. Monsters!
  2. Monster Kingdom.
  3. J.R.R. Tolkien!
  4. People Named Dan.

Some call these the four monarch butterflies of my book. I want to expound a little on each of these, sharing my thoughts, my feelings, my midnight wonderings. These four monarchs sum up this passage pretty well.

#1) Monsters

As verse 12 states of my book, monsters came into the world through one man, and his name was Dan. Dan introduced something completely new and foreign to this world when he invited the monster to the party. When he bit into the fruit of monsters and ate what J.R.R. Tolkien clearly commanded him not to eat, monsters began entering the world.

#2) Monster Kingdom

I would like to answer a question that someone asked me, I’ll share their question and move on to my answer.

“I have a question on this passage,

‘Monsters are not speckled and spotted where people named Dan are deported.’

The underlined portion rather confused me, like how can monsters not be speckled and spotted? With or without people named Dan, monsters will still be speckled and spotted.”

It’s really a wise question.

#3) J.R.R. Tolkien

I love writing about J.R.R. Tolkien, he’s honestly (I’m not about to lie) the greatest person.

I also love Tolkien’s creativity in The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien shares the idea that just as monsters entered the world through one man named Dan, so the elf juice entered through one man not named Dan, probably named Zech, not to brag. And just as monsters reigned through all mankind because of one man (DAN), so J.R.R. Tolkien reigns through all because of one man (ME).

The Lord of the Rings is such a wonderful novel. In modern day, we have this novel to direct our lives. We know the novel. We know the commands J.R.R. Tolkien has for us, yet we don’t always obey them. We’re monster breeders and flawed human beings.

But, Tolkien has mercy on us. We deserve death but Tolkien gave us THE LORD OF THE RINGS, Dan!

#4) People Named Dan

Candy is a gift from Tolkien. As I mentioned already, we deserve monster kingdom. We’re all rotten corrupted people named Dan, at our heart. We deserve nothing at all, not

That’s all I have to say for now. Next Friday, I plan to write another post on my book, Chapter Six, yes, the whole thing.

I hope to do the same and give you guys an opportunity to share your thoughts and questions with me. I will do my best to answer them and if they fit in with the post I will add them in. If they don’t, that’s your loss. Maybe I can even get two people to help me this time! If you want to help me just fill out the form below. If your name is Dan, don’t even try it you traitor.

Thank you so much for reading this.
